We had a really great auction Wednesday with many outstanding cattle. Thank you so much to all our cosigners who brought cattle, bringing our total to 698 head. Here are some highlights from the sale, we had 69 weaned black heifers weighing approx. 630 bring $157.50c, 83 black steers weighing approx. 660 at $162.50c, and 23 heifers weighing approx. 530 bring $168.00c. What a great sale we had to kick off the month of November as we saw 689 head of cattle sold. Thanks to everyone for your continued support and business. Another great run this week, with our sale total reaching 753 head of cattle. Weaned cattle were still several dollars higher than non-weaned cattle. There was also some strength shown this week on fancier bawling calves as we gained some new faces in the crowd. Stock cows are in high demand, while butcher bulls were 3-5 lower and butcher cows also 7-10 lower. Had a great auction and expect more next week! Weaned cattle still showing the most strength especially in the 500-650 lb weight range, and fancy bawling calves are in high demand. Thanks to all the sellers who contributed to the 778 head of cattle on Wednesday, we had a really nice run. With higher price quotes that reflect price of weaned and worked cattle, nicer weaned cattle remain in high demand. Fancy calf market is steady, but plainer non-weaned cattle showing some weakness. September 20,2017 Market Report
What a great run of cattle we had last week, reaching 679 head. Weaned cattle still have greater marketability vs. non-weaned cattle, up to 20-25 cwt higher in some cases. Quality was good on bawling calves, but heavy fresh conditions and it being fall time of year makes them less desirable. Butcher cows and bulls are still lower, with nice replacement cows still very valuable due to scarcity. Good afternoon everyone! What a great day we had yesterday as we ran just over 720 head of cattle through the sale. We seen a good run of stockers and feeders, with feeder cattle trading higher due to rise in feeder cattle futures. There is a good demand on fat non-weaned fancy calves, but a lower demand on plain fat calves. Also a high demand on weaned stockers. We cannot stress enough how much value you can add to your calves by weaning and fully vaccinating them. Fancy stock cows are in high demand because of limited numbers of them. Butcher cows and bulls were sharply lower this week. We are planning to have a weaned stocker special on November 15, so mark your calendars.
